How To Get Rid Of Mosquito
Mosquitoes are well known for their annoying bites. The mosquito bites can also pass some nasty diseases like Malaria and West Nile virus. Therefore, how to prevent their bites is a common global problem, mainly during the hot seasons. Here are few important yet simple tips how to get rid of mosquito bites:
Focus On Avoiding Other Than Killing
The best advice how to get rid of mosquito bites is to concentrate on preventing rather than on killing. Mosquito traps are lethal and frequently include some attractant material that mosquitoes like. While their customers are happy to see how many mosquito fatalities were caught, they usually miss the remaining ones which the trap attracted but managed to escape.
Installing Mosquito Nets
So knowing that avoidance is a major factor, how do we prevent mosquitoes from getting to us? One of the most common methods how to get rid of mosquito bites is by installing mosquito nets: Screens covering the home windows and nets around our beds to protect the sleeping persons directly.
Using mosquito nets has its drawbacks. Mosquitoes are active normally during the hot seasons and the Nets hold back the fresh air. Additionally, while netting around the bed does prevent them from reaching our skin, it does not help preventing mosquitoes from detecting us! Therefore, the mosquito females will wait on the mesh and eventually, when we leave the net protection, we are very likely to get bitten immediately.
High CO2 Concentration
Not many of us are familiar with the fact that mosquito’s best attractant is the high CO2 concentration around our body generated as we breathe. So getting rid of this CO2 level around us should be an important step towards avoiding their bites.
Fortunately, a fan blowing air towards us is a very straightforward and cheap method to clear the CO2 concentration around us. Moreover, mosquitoes normally do not like to fly in a windy environment and therefore will look for other victims to get their blood, while we can sleep quietly under the fan guest.
Using Mosquito Repellents
The best way to get rid of mosquito bites is still using mosquito repellents, which are divided into two families: Personal repellents to put on our skin and aerial repellents (i.e. Citronella candles) that evaporate their active ingredient to establish a mosquito-free surrounding. Traps can be useful too but only as a complementary mean to reduce their population around our house.
So how to get rid of mosquito bites? Implement the above tips to better protect your family from these itchy and risky insects.
